Stop and Apply
It is time to stop, think and apply!
As I was reading Philippians again this morning I was thinking about how much of the bible we know and how much of it we don't really stop and apply or practice in our lives. And how much we need to be reminded. I remember how irritated I use to get when I had to remind my children to do something over and over. They would get distracted so easily.
But I find I am just like that too. In phil.4 6-8 those very familiar verses it says: Don't worry about anything; instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done. If you DO this, you will experience God's peace, which is for more wonderful than the human mind can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you LIVE in Christ Jesus.
Notes;" It seems strange that a man in prison would be telling the church (that is me and you) to rejoice. But Paul's attitude teaches us an important lesson; Our inner attitudes do not have to reflect our outward circumstances . Paul was full of joy because he knew that no matter what happened to him, Jesus Christ was with him. Several times in this letter Paul urged the Philippians to be Joyful, probably because they needed to hear this. It's easy to get discouraged about unpleasant circumstances or to take unimportant events too seriously. If you haven't been joyful lately, you may not be looking at life from the right perspective."
Ultimate joy comes from Christ dwelling within us. Like Paul He is with us. so whatever is concerning or worrying you today. (me too) Let us PRAY about it, tell him all about it, and then trust him !
The next thing we are to do is too: V,8- Fix your thoughts on what is true and honorable and right. Think about things that are pure and lovely and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned from me and heard form me and saw me doing and the God of peace will be with you.
If I didn't learn or read anything else this week but this and applied it I would have a great peace. How much do I apply and do what these few verses tell me to do? It is not how much knowledge we have. It is how much do we practice what we already know. Lets read it, write it down, think about it, till we understand it. Apply it till it is a part of our lives. Pray that it will inter our hearts and not just our minds.
♥God bless you today! Sharon

THANKS, for the reminder!!
Great post mom!!!
This really does make a wonderful difference.
We do learn so much from our kids about our own relationship with God. We can be awfully lazy about actual follow-through of what we ought to be doing by now.
Sharon, thank you so much. Great post, great words. And I love that last little graphic to pieces. blessings to you!
I love Paul....thanks.
BTW I love what you have done here....
