  • A new Church

    praisethelord-s

We have been blessed again as we have found a church that we really like.  We have been listening to the pastor on the net for several months. He is a very knowledgable and a good bible teacher. His teaching style is expository. That means book by book verse by verse. You really learn that way and scripture is not taken out of context. Today I went to the women's bible study and it was really good. They are very organized and we are studying the book of James. The pastor has been going through James and this study with the ladies is just to reinforce the Sunday messages.

The people there have been wonderful and have made us feel very welcome. Lots of friendly folks.

After the study I went to Jakes Gluten Free store. Yes, a whole store for us that are Gluten Intolerant! So I bought some bread and things. Good bread I might add, that does not taste like cardboard. Then I went over to Karen's house for a visit. So nice to be able to do that again.

My exercise class is going well too. So I am back into a more social life again and it is wonderful. In Wa I was not. But it was where God had me to be for that time. Now is a new season for me.

Well time to go, I will post a few more pictures tomorrow.

May your day be blessed with Him as your guide moment by moment. Sharon

  • Our Kitchen

Here is a link to some pictures of our Kitchen. I put then on my BLOG so I don't have to store them on here.

I will have more pictures later. I did finish my sewing room finally Now if I can just remember where I have put everything! I went to my first exercise class yesterday they have here at 8:30 AM Mon-Friday. So many nice ladies here. It is a start anyway for me. I met a Christian lady that lives just four houses down the street. She is very nice. The home next to us on one side is for sell. No one lives there yet, so we are praying for nice people to move in there. My other nieghbor is a very sweet lady I have talked to a few times.

Well time to fix dinner so need to get off.

    Have a blessed weekend!! Sharon

If you haven't checked out Tammy's recipes site yet it is a good one! One of todays recipes is Salmon Potatoe Cassarole. I am going to make this one!

I am putting all  the things that go into my hutch today and rearranging some things. Yesterday was town day and some shopping. I am working on a family photo wall too. I am cooking a roast for dinner today and did laundry. I love my laundry room! Sounds strange I know, but it is the first laundry room I have ever had that you don't walk through. So nice.

Well back to work. God bless your day! Sharon

  • INFO ABOUT CLOTHES DRYERS
The heating unit went out on my dryer! The gentleman that fixes things around the
house for us told us that he wanted to show us something and he went over to the
dryer and pulled out the lint filter. It was clean. (I always clean the lint from the fil-
ter after every load clothes.) He told us that he wanted to show us something; he
took the filter over to the sink and ran hot water over it. The lint filter is made of a
mesh material ... I'm sure you know what your dryer's lint filter looks like. Well ...
the hot water just sat on top of the mesh! It didn't go through it at all! He told us
that dryer sheets cause a film over that mesh that's what burns out the heating unit.
You can't SEE the film, but it's there. It's what is in the dryer sheets to make your
clothes soft and static free ... that nice fragrance too. You know how they can feel
waxy when you take them out of the box .. well this stuff builds up on your clothes
and on your lint screen. This is also what causes dryer units to potentially burn your
house down with it! He said the best way to keep your dryer working for a very long
time (and to keep your electric bill lower) is to take that filter out and wash it with
hot soapy water and an old toothbrush (or other brush) at least every six months.
He said that makes the life of the dryer at least twice as long! How about that!?!
Learn something new everyday! I certainly didn't know dryer sheets would do that.
    So, I thought I'd share!

Note: I went to my dryer and tested my screen by running water on it. All the water collected in the mesh screen. I washed it with warm soapy water and a nylon brush and I had it done in 30 seconds. Then when
I rinsed it ... the water ran right thru the screen! There wasn't any puddling at all!
That repairman knew what he was talking about!

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO OTHER PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK.
NOT ONLY COULD IT SAVE SOMEONE'S HOME, BUT IT COULD SAVE
    SOMEONE'S LIFE.

The above was a email I got from my niece. My screen was very clogged so I don't use dryer sheets any more.
I put a small amount of hair conditioner on a wet wash cloth and wring it out then put it in the dryer. It works good. God bless, Sharon

  • Pictures finally

Here are a few pictures of our move here and of our new grandson Jake at 5 weeks now. He is such a sweet and cute baby don't you think?

    Jake at 5 weeks

The moving van and Don's 53 Chevy truck that he loves!

This was my view as I followed him over the Mt's.

    IMG_0510

Here is another picture of one of the  passes we went over, at 4,193 ft high.  Lots of snow but Praise God the roads were clear! Just a little wet. But no ice or anything.

    IMG_0509

This is what I was driving. Our Good old faithful truck! At a rest stop.

    IMG_0500

Here we have arrived at our new home.

    IMG_0516

Remember those bushes in the front of the house? We  had them cut down right away. They were blocking some of the windows. The house color is not blue as it looks like here, it is a green blue with a little gray in it.I like it though!

    IMG_0519

I have always loved Blue Spruces. And now we have one by the driveway. And out nieghbor across the street has two that I can look at too!

    IMG_0520

This is what we saw the other morning. There were several balloons in the sky at the time. This ls looking right out our front window. So pretty!

    IMG_0522

Here is our living room and dinning area. Just look at all that light!!! God knew exactly what we needed. LOTS OF LIGHT!!!

I haven't hung any pictures yet and don't know what to do for the windows if anything yet. Maybe just a valence. They do have window shades on them for privacy. we are going to replace the light fixture next mo. I am not to fond of it!

    IMG_0528

    IMG_0527

This is the garage before as we are moving in.

    IMG_0521

And this is after with a few boxes that go to the Goodwill.

    IMG_0529

Now that wasn't so bad, But glad most of the hard work is over, and we are almost done except for a few things at Karens that  Don is getting today.

I get to go to my first social here today. It is a fashion show by the Women of Willowbrook. Looking forward to meeting some ladies that live here in our community.

We are going to go to our first church service on Sunday. We like the pastors teaching as we listen to him on thier website. So I hope it works out for us.

God bless and have a blessed weekend and Bless God always!  Sharon

It will be in the 70"s  and sunny here!! Yea!!

  • Cell phone numbers go public

Just saw this on Grapes of wisdom's web site and thought I would pass it on.

REMEMBER: Cell Phone Numbers Go Public this month.

REMINDER.....  all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sales calls.

.... YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS

To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:
    888-382-1222.
It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only take a minute of your time.. It blocks your number for five (5) years. You must call from the cell phone number you want to have blocked. You cannot call from a different phone number.

HELP OTHERS BY PASSING THIS ON .. It takes about 20 seconds.

I am almost unpacked. Not one thing got broken. I think that is pretty amazing.

    Will post some picks tomorrow.

    God bless, Sharon

  • Best ever corn bread mix

My computer is working again. I have been doing some research today and ran across this recipe on the free page of Craigslist and it looks like a very good recipe. She said:

"This is my own version of corn bread. Its the best I ever had. I hope you enjoy it. Last night I made homemade clamb chowder and we had it for dinner and this morning my 4 kids had it for breakfast with homemade apple butter. Its great! "

    BEST EVER CORN BREAD MIX

1 1/3 cup corn meal flour
    2/3 cup flour
    1/3 cup sugar
    1 tsp salt
    2 tsp baking powder

Note: The best place to get the corn meal flour is either at a health food store in the bulk section or at a grocery store such as Winco Foods that has a bulk section. Winco Foods has a better price. You want the kind of corn flour (not like the corn meal) that is more finely ground. If it is not finely ground it will not work as well.

Mix all ingredients in either a bowl, or I use quart jars and just put all ingredients in the jar and place a lid on and shake it to mix all the ingredients. Label the jar so you don’t forget what it is.

    BEST EVER CORN BREAD

Take your jar of mix and add the following:

    1 cup milk
    2 eggs
    ¼ cup of oil

Mix all ingredients with a fork until smooth. Bake in a greased backing dish or you can put it in a muffin tin and back the same way. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

    MUFFIN MIX

    2 cup flour
    ½ cup sugar
    2 tsp baking powder
    ¼ tsp baking soda
    ¼ tsp salt
    ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)

Mix all ingredients in a bowl and store in a large zip lock bag or I place all ingredients in a quart jar and then shake it to mix all the ingredients. Label the jar so you don’t forget what it is.

    MUFFIN MIX MUFFINS

Take the above mix and add the following:

    ¾ cup milk
    1 egg
    ½ cup of oil
1 cup of frozen fruit of your choice (blueberries, huckleberries, etc)

Place the muffin mixture in a medium size bowl and add the above ingredients and mix with a fork until pretty smooth. Place muffin papers in a muffin tin and spoon in your batter.

Bake at 400 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.

    God bless! Sharon

Authentic Christianity

Genuine Christianity is walking in line with the Word of God by the power of the Spirit of God for the purpose of the glory of God. When we're walking as God intends for us to walk: we'll find ourselves letting our minds dwell on Christ and His ways, on God and His Word; we'll find ourselves trusting and obeying as we're faced with choices. We'll find ourselves relying upon the indwelling Holy Spirit for life, to live the beautiful life of Jesus through us; we'll know He's in control by His fruit through these bodies of ours. We'll find ourselves having no other reason for doing or thinking anything but to bring glory to God alone; we'll know we're living our lives out to God alone by who's in our grandstands!~HCC~~~
